Random thoughts

During my late teens and into my early twenties, it was all about the latest club or coolest hang out spots. A lot of what was fun involved hanging out in crowded places that were often too loud for conversation, and staying up through most of the night for no real good reason The popular spots changed from time to time and were not limited to weekend nights, yet somehow after partying all night on a Wednesday we could still get up and arrive at work the next morning looking fresh as a lettuce. Now that I have entered into my late-late twenties, that’s not something I can easily pull off these days. At least not me. I also feel like the topics of conversation have drifted in new directions, naturally as we mature, and that events such as “girls night OUT” are being replaced with “girls night IN”. In the process I notice that I have pretty much replaced any type of hard liquor with wine. And somehow all those sleepless nights, fun as they were, have been left behind – of course never really entirely – and are transitioning into something else…it’s hard to say (and maybe also a bit scary), but they just might be turning into what’s simply considered more “grown up”?
