The Monday diet

I must confess that I have become one of those girls that starts to diet every Monday…sigh. Monday diets are usually a result of weekend overeating. In my case, I’ve always enjoyed blaming my mom a little bit for this, since she used to tell us that whatever we ate on Sundays didn’t count.  For some inexplainable reason, I also grew up thinking that the food on the plane or on vacations didn’t count either – I wish!

Apart from my regular yearly resolution, this year I wanted to be more creative when preparing food at home. The idea is to incorporate lots of fresh foods with lots of color, textures and flavors into my everyday cooking.  I’ve been doing quite well with this, and that’s where some of my blog post inspiration has come from, like you can see here and here.

This week’s “Monday diet” included pan-seared fresh scallops and a salad (tomato, cucumber and romaine lettuce with homemade balsamic vinaigrette).  It was healthy and delicious, and earned me many brownie points at home!

Melsss.. jajajaja creo que el 90% d las mijeres hacen casi lo mismo, comenzar el lunes la dieta jajajajajajajaja…… La ensalada se ve re buena.

Totalmente cierto! Empezar la dieta los lunes y terminarla los martes en la manana es un rito. Yo ahora hago el “esfuerzo” (y entre comillas porque en verdad no es mucho) de comer bien durante la semana y el domingo……aaayyyy domingo! -como lo que me la gana. Asi me animo mas a la dieta del lunes :)
