Warm Chocolate Soufflé

{Warm chocolate soufflé & vanilla ice cream}

Fran’s mom shared this recipe with me a few months back. It’s so good that I couldn’t keep it to myself.

This dessert is not only easy to make, it’s easily among the best warm chocolate cakes that  I’ve tried. It’s not too sweet and just the right size, and it can be made in advance and refrigerated for later baking.

I hope you’ll try making it and let me know how it goes!

Recipe + Prep

5 eggs + 5 egg whites
1 cup butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
250 grams dark chocolate bars
1/2 cup sifted flour

{beat all of the eggs + light brown sugar with an electric mixer}

{melt chocolate + butter over a bain marie}

{combine egg + chocolate mixtures + fold in sifted flour}

{grease/butter your molds or ramekins}

{fill the molds almost all the way to the top}

{preheat oven to 180 C /350 F + bake for 10-12 mins*}

{the crust must be firm + the middle gooey}

{turn over onto a plate + sprinkle powdered sugar}

*Oven times may vary, I recommend checking the cake at 2 minute intervals after 10 mins.
